The Origin

I started making HIKE in my kitchen as an alternative to non-alcoholic beer. I had stopped drinking alcohol after a good 20 year run of working hard and playing hard. It wasn’t easy but it was absolutely the right decision. I was struggling to find the right drink to shift gears in my newfound sobriety. NA beer was too triggering, and too full of empty calories. I was drinking a ton of seltzer but I was seeking something with a little more depth. My sister grew hops and we would put the fresh cut buds directly into our glasses of beer to give it more of an aromatic punch. I wondered if I could do the same thing with seltzer. So I started experimenting at home with hops, water and CO2. I eventually landed on a balanced flavor that did not mimic beer and had a crisp bright refreshing approach and crisp finish. I started bringing it around in mason jars for friends and co-workers that were also cutting back on booze. People seemed to really like it and I kept getting requests to make more. And I did. So here we are. HIKE ON!
